実規模の吸引通気式堆肥化システムを用いて取得可能な熱量および炭酸ガス濃度を明らかにするとともに, 材料の切り返し頻度が発酵排気中の熱量や炭酸ガス濃度に及ぼす影響を調査した。実験は, 切り返し頻度を週1回と週2回に設定して行った。その結果, 切り返し頻度を週1回から週2回に増やすことで, 取得可能な熱量が141W・m-3から216W・m-3, 炭酸ガス濃度は1.5%から1.8%に増加した。また週2回の切り返しは, 熱量および炭酸ガス濃度の変動を抑制し, 安定した回収利用が可能となった。さらに, 週2回の切り返しは, 堆肥材料への通気量を増加させ, 硫化水素の生成を抑制させるなど,
