通気量および含水率が微生物活性に及ぼす影響を検討した。吸引通気式堆肥化の初期過程における最適条件は, 通気量が約0.5-0.7L・min-1・kg-vm-1, 材料含水率が56-65%であった。吸引通気式堆肥化では堆肥化可能な上限含水率が圧送通気式堆肥化と比較し低くなる傾向にあるものの, 最適条件は過去に報告された圧送通気式堆肥化のとほぼ一致した。加えて, 吸引通気式堆肥化で観測された酸素消費速度, 熱発生速度, 比増殖速度プロファイルは, 圧送通気式堆肥化の場合と同一であった。これらの結果は,
