Purified enzyme preparation(P4-4-2) had a specific activity of 3 662 units per mg of protein, that is, 116-fold purification over the crude extract of the wheat bran culture of the mesophilic fungus S. sclerotiorum. The purified enzyme was determined to be homogeneous by nondenaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis.
