Symptomatic treatment did not improve the condition significantly. After 1 month, fever, dehydration, oliguria and abdominal distension were observed. Although bladder rupture associated with urinary tract obstruction was suspected, normal serum creatinine and urea nitrogen levels indicated otherwise. The bullock was euthanized for poor prognosis without a definitive diagnosis.\n　In the pathological examination, the apex of the bladder was connected to a large mass occupying the right side of the abdominal cavity. The mass likely originated from the urachus （urachal diverticulum） because there was no sign of inflammatory reaction in the bladder apex. Adhesion to the surrounding tissues indicated possible urine leakage through the broken urachus into the abdominal cavity. The greater omentum may have enclosed the leaked urine keeping peritonitis localized and forming a large mass.
